Para-Plus Translations of Barrington Honored by New Jersey Small Business Development Center

The Camden County Freeholder Board and Economic Development Team were amongst many throughout New Jersey to congratulate Para-Plus Translation of Barrington for being honored by the New Jersey Small Business Development Center at the Small Business Growth Success Awards Luncheon.

The Small Business Growth Success Awards recognize key small businesses across the state representing diverse industries for business development and success.  Para-Plus Translations was one of thirteen businesses to receive this award in 2011.

“Small business is the backbone of our economy,” stated Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.  “As elected officials, we need to continue to foster the development of small businesses in New Jersey.”

Para-Plus Translations, Inc. is a family-owned business offering language interpreting and translation services for virtually any language. The NJSBDC at Rutgers-Camden assisted company Founder, Sonia Santiago, with business valuation, marketing, and other organizational issues. The company is now run by her sons Robert and Carlos with Sonia’s oversight.  The firm has 10 employees and 13 full-time equivalent language translators and interpreters. The business expects to increase sales by slightly over 20 percent.

“As small businesses grow, more jobs are available to our residents.  Para-Plus is a shining example of this.  I encourage all business within Camden County to contact our Economic Development Team to see what new and exciting government programs are available for business growth.”
